Afim de entender o comportamento de moscas hematófagas, a pesquisa busca aprisionar  estes insetos que se alimentam de sangue em a controlled environment com a common environment containing sangue. From this common environment there is access to these flies in three other connected and bloodless environments , but with different levels of which is understood be more or less attractive to insects. Going from a very attractive environment (warm, lit for example), to a less attractive one (cold, dark) and also an intermediate one (cold, lit) or (warm, dark). Initial results have been very promising, with bloodstains forming exactly in the most comfortable environments, and no stains in the most unfavorable environment. The intention now is to change environments in several ways.

In order to understand the behavior of hematophagous flies, the research seeks to trap these insects that feed on blood in a controlled environment with a common environment containing blood. From this common environment there is access to these flies in three other connected and bloodless environments, but with different levels of what is meant to be more or less attractive to insects. Going from a very attractive (warm, illuminated for example), to a less attractive (cold, dark) and also an intermediate (cold, light) or (hot, dark). The initial results have shown to be very promising, with bloodstains forming exactly in the most comfortable environments, and no stains in the most unfavorable environment. The intention is now to change the environments in different ways.
